On August 4, 2002, Judy A. and Judi W. along with their husbands Leonard and Mike got to meet and spend some time together In August 2002, I got to meet Judy A. for the second time, when Leonard came to Louisiana for a job and Judy came with him, Mike and I drove to Alexandria to meet them. The first time we met, was very brief, this time we had more time and also had our husbands with us. It was great, we sat around their hotel room for a while and just talked. It was wonderful. Mike said that was the first time he felt able to really share with another couple and not have to worry about tearing up (which he did several times). He said it was a great feeling to be able to share with another Dad who understood. We all four talked non stop, even when we went out to eat. Judy is such a sweet heart, I was so glad to be able to see her again, and to meet Leonard, to be able to share this experience with Mike made it even more special. Judi W. Sunday, August 4, 2002, Leonard and I leave for Alexandria, La. We were going to meet Judi and Mike at 4:00. We were to meet at the Super 8, where we were going to stay. While we were looking for it, Judi called me to say they were there. We couldn't find it. We did find a Super 8 so we checked to see if that was where we had reversations. NO,it wasn't there. They let us call the other one to cancel and we check-in there. As I was trying to call Judi, she called me and they came to meet us. Our visit was wonderful. We talked about our Angels with ease. It is so much easier to talk about your angels with soneone who has angel. You can be open and honest about how you feel and no one is there looking down on on you or feeling sorry for you. Leonard said it was good to talk to another Angel Dad. He has never been able to talk as open as he did that day. He was relaxed and at ease with Judi and Mike. It was good to see him like that. To me it was like talking to old friends. I think Mike felt at ease also. After an hour or two, we went to Cracker Barrel to eat. We sat there another 1 1/2 visting and eating. Just enjoying the time together. I'm looking forward to seeing Judi again, and meeting other Angel Moms.
